Cracked teeth happen to so many of us, and can produce a very noticeable amount of pain. Oftentimes, it can also be very difficult for the patient to localize the offending tooth.
If something like this occurs, there’s a good chance you might have a cracked tooth or teeth that should be examined by a dental professional.
It may seem unlikely, but a cracked tooth is not always as noticeable as you think. They can range tiny, hairline fractures that aren’t immediately noticeable to the untrained eye. The more obvious the crack in a tooth, the more likely you are to experience one of these symptoms of:
Your tooth is not a solid block of enamel. Inside is soft tissue with a delicate network of nerves and blood vessels called the pulp. When a young tooth is growing, this pulp is essential to keep it nourished and alive. Once yours stops growing, it really isn’t necessary. Unfortunately, if it is exposed to bacteria, such as when your tooth is cracked, it can be very susceptible to infection.
When a crack progresses to the point that your pulp is even the slightest bit vulnerable to infection, a root canal may be a successful and efficient method to address your symptoms and help retain the natural tooth. The final step will result in the placement of a custom crown.

I saw Dr. Duval for a really bad cavity that was all the way down into the nerve of my tooth. I was very afraid that the tooth could not be saved, but Dr. Duval gave it a thorough assessment and decided that the tooth was still worth fighting for. If the game plan at Loop 101 Endodontics is to change your perception of the root canal experience, they have hit it out of the park. Most people will bring a good measure of stress, discomfort and fear with them to an Endodontic visit. At Loop 101 it is hard to hang on to any of that for long. It is difficult to say that a root canal was in any way pleasant, but in this case it was an absolute pleasure to do business with Loop 101 Endodontics. I give them 10 out of 5 stars!
